Formignana

Formignana is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2802 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ferrara, in Emilia -Romagna. The municipality is situated approximately 19 km east of Ferrara.

History

The village was first mentioned in 870 in a document of Pope Hadrian II. By 1908 Formignana was part of the neighboring municipality of Copparo. 1961, the district Tresigallo was raised as a separate parish.
