Dällikon is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

Geography

Dällikon is the Furttal, north of the city of Zurich, south of the warehouses, east of Baden and west of the airport Zurich -Kloten. The area of 449 ha consists of 50% agricultural zone and 32% of the forest.

Traffic

Dällikon is developed well over the S-Bahn line S6 to Baden and Zurich. The fine distribution are determined by the traffic Glattal. The nearest motorway connection to the ( A1/A4 northern bypass ) is located in the neighboring municipality rain village.

History

Its name is attributed to a clan leader named Tello, from which Tellinghovon was. This oldest surviving mention of the name dated 8 February 870, as an Alemannic latifundists donated to the monastery of St. Gall lands right of the Limmat and the Furttal.

Landowners in Dällikon, with the exception of the Barons of Regenberg especially spiritual foundations: the monasteries Muri and driving, the Abbey of Einsiedeln, the woman Munster monastery in Zurich, the provost the Great Munster and the nunnery to Oetenbach, also in Zurich.

In 1468 the city of Zurich purchased the domain Landsberg Greifensee, including Dällikon with the High Courts belonged. Zurich announced to the village of Upper Bailiwick Regenberg. After the French invasion came Dällikon 1798 District Regenberg, later it became part of the district Dielsdorf.

Until 1843 Dällikon formed with the neighboring village Danikon a political community. The common school was divided in 1876. The reformed parish Dällikon - Danikon, however, has survived to the present day.
