Denis Wucherer
Denis usurers ( born May 7, 1973 in Mainz ) is a former German professional basketball player and current basketball coach.
Playing career
Clubs
The shooting guard profiteers began his career in the youth of the TV Oppenheim, and then played one year for Fort Pierce High School in the USA. As a professional player, he was responsible for the Bundesliga club TV Langen ( 1991-92 ), Bayer 04 Leverkusen ( 1992-98 and 2002-05 ), DJK Würzburg s.Oliver (2001) and Opel Skyliners Frankfurt ( 2001-02) active. In the meantime, played for Olimpia Milano usurers (1998-2000), Varese Roosters ( 2000-01 ) and Benetton Treviso ( 2005) in the Italian Serie A, before he trailed off Oostende ( 2005-07 ) began his career with the Belgian first division Telindus.
His most successful period was in Bayer 04 Leverkusen, as he won the championship four times and twice the cup between 1992 and 1998 with the team.
In the season 2003/ 04 the usurer in two consecutive games each a triple -double, which is something very rare in European basketball. First he made on 17 April 2004 at the season finale against BG Karlsruhe Iceline 37 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. In the following the first game of the play-offs against Alba Berlin on April 29, he was able to record 19 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.
National
For the German national usurers completed a total of 123 internationals. He participated among others in the European Championships in 1995, 1997 and 1999. His biggest international success came usurers at the European Championships in 2005 when he failed with the German basket hunters only in the final to Greece.
Coaching career
After he had finished his active career, usurers first worked for television and commented Bundesliga games for the transmitter Sportdigital.tv. He also wrote regular columns for various German basketball magazine. In the 2008 /09 season usurers coached the U-19 team of Bayer Leverkusen Giants in the junior league. In June 2010, he assumed the post of national coach of the U -20 team of the German Basketball Federation, which was until then an interim basis by the men's coach Dirk Bauer man, usurer first coach of Leverkusen times exercised.
