Do not Let Me Be the Last to Know (English for: " Do not let it me know as Last " ) is a song by American pop singer Britney Spears. The song was by Robert Lange, the Canadian pop singer Shania Twain and Keith Scott for her second studio album Oops! I Did It Again ... written in 2000 and produced. The song was the fourth and final single from Oops on 17 January 2001! ... I Did It Again released by Jive Records.
Background
Do not Let Me Be the Last to Know was written by Robert Lange, his then-wife Shania Twain and Keith Scott and produced. Spears took the vocals for the song November-December 1999, Lange's and Twain 's chateau in Switzerland. In a live concert in Hawaii Spears called the song as one of their favorites of Oops! ... I Did It Again. The song was released on 17 January 2001 as the final single from the album. It was the first of Spears' singles that failed to make it into the top 10 of the German and British charts.
Reception
Written in E major pop ballad received good reviews in general, but a certain resemblance to David Bowie and Iggy Pop Single China Girl was found.
Charts
The song had only moderate success and reached only in Austria and in Switzerland, the top ten. In other European countries, including in Germany Top 20 rankings have been achieved.
