Company History

Bogdan " Boggi " Kopec began in 1968 as manager of the band Faithful Breath; he came into contact with metal, as Karl Walter Bach of Noise Records hired him. In 1981 he founded his own music publishing, the music publishing Kopec; This changed its name in 1986 Drakkar Promotion to and focused on this time almost exclusively on marketing of young bands the then burgeoning heavy metal scene. Among other things managed the German groups Kreator, Sodom, Rage and Running Wild breakthrough.

Because of a collaboration with BMG, the label in 1992 renamed it Drakkar Promotion Music Publishing GmbH. This cooperation, however, was terminated in 1999; the company is since then under the name of Drakkar Entertainment GmbH.

As the biggest success of the label, the two gold records, who won the Finnish hard rock band Lordi after they won the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 for the single Hard Rock Hallelujah and her album The Arockalypse in Germany apply. The Finnish band Nightwish, which stood until 2004 Drakkar under contract in 2007 reached later gold awards for their published by Drakkar albums Wishmaster and Century Child. Some years earlier, also appeared at Drakkar DVDs From Wishes to Eternity and End of Innocence and the best-of album Tales from the Elvenpath had already been certified gold.
