Dürmentingen

Dürmentingen [ dʏrməntɪŋən ] is a municipality in the district of Biberach in Baden- Württemberg, at the house mountain of Upper Swabia, the buses.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Dürmentingen ( 1,693 inhabitants), Hailtingen ( 455 ) Heudorf ( 439 ) and Burgau (52).

History

Dürmentingen

The place Dürmentingen was first mentioned in 811. 1290 was the place under the rule of the Habsburgs, it only pledged in 1386 to the Steward of Waldburg and sold in 1452. The Thirty Years' War the city almost completely depopulated. 1786 Dürmentingen fell to the princes of Thurn and Taxis, however, in order to arrive in 1806 due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss conclusion to the Kingdom of Württemberg, where it belongs to the upper office Riedlingen. 1915 receives the community a breakpoint at the Federseemuseum train ( Kanzachtalbahn ), which is decommissioned in 1960. 1938, the place comes in the wake of the former district reform county Saulgau. Since 1973 Dürmentingen belongs to the district of Biberach.

Heudorf

Situated on the famous highway ( Roman Road ) at Heudorf in the Danube valley two basic plans of buildings in the years 1984/85 in aerial photographs become visible, one of which is equipped with very strong foundations. According Stuttgart Regional Council, it is believed to be a Roman temple with a rectangular cella.

Traffic

1916 Federseemuseum train to Bad Schussenried was - Riedlingen opened last narrow gauge line of Baden-Württemberg with the remaining piece of Dürmentingen to Riedlingen. The train had two break points in the municipality ( Dürmentingen and Hailtingen ). 1960, the total traffic was stopped on this part of the track and the track removed.

Educational institutions

Dürmentingen has a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule in community sponsorship, which goes back in its history to 1585, and with the Edith Stein School a primary, secondary, special and vocational school under the auspices of the Immakulataschwestern from seraphic apostolate of Brandenburg monastery.

Culture and sights

The district Heudorf located on the Upper Swabian Baroque Route, which passes by many cultural goods.
