Tiefenbach, Biberach

Tiefenbach is a small municipality in the district of Biberach in Upper Swabia, situated directly on the Federseemuseum.

Geography

The district Tiefenbach is located on the northeastern edge of the basin Federseemuseum. In the west, the municipality share of Federseeried. The village itself lies on the steep edge between Federseemuseum basin and the overlying wave Altmoränengebiet.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the eponymous district Tiefenbach and has no further part places. The formerly belonging to the municipality hamlet armed mountain and the Maierhof came in 1977, the district Stafflangen the town of Biberach an der Riss.

History

The name of the village was first mentioned in 1277 as Tiuffenbach documented in the context of a family of local nobles. The origin of these multiple nobles, however, is uncertain and of a castle in the place nothing is handed down, so that the backup first mention of the church in 1353 ( Tuffenbach ) must be dated.

The current municipal area comprised a Maierhof the ladies pin Buchau and around 30 Korneliererblehen the pin. The pen had early held the lordship over Tiefenbach, the high and low justice and the Bailiwick of law were at the reign Warthausen. The Maierhof was in the secularisation of 1803 by Austria sequestered ( seized ) and came in 1806 to the Kingdom of Württemberg.

Back in the 15th century a church Tiefenbach is called. To date, the place was always self: he came in 1806 to the Kingdom of Württemberg, where he initially belonged to the upper office Riedlingen to Oberamt Biberach, 1809. Religions

Politically Tiefenbach is traditionally characterized Christian- conservative. In 1924 the Centre Party, for example, 94.7 % of the votes cast. Culture and sights

  • Chapel of St. Oswald, built in 1414 in the Gothic style, the Baroque style in the 18th century. Facilities include a late Gothic crucifix, a Pietà of about 1430, a seated Madonna and two saints from the vicinity of Hans Multscher ( 1440 ), two figures of saints by Johann Joseph Christian ( 1745) and two paintings by Abraham van Diepenbeeck ( 17 century).
