Geographical location

The Upper Swabian Kirchdorf belongs to the Danube -Iller region and is situated in the valley of the Iller. History

Kirchdorf was first mentioned in 764 in the foundation charter of the monastery Ottobeuren. It belonged to the rule Kellmünz, but fell in the year 1000 to the County of Bregenz and 1150 to the Count Palatine of Tübingen.
