Erolzheim

Erolzheim is a municipality in the eastern district of Biberach in Upper Swabia. The community is conveniently located on the edge of Illertals on the feeder road to the nearby A7. Erolzheim is the seat of the local government association Illertal and together with the neighboring Kirchdorf an der Iller a sub- center.

History

Erolzheim was born on February 4, 1040 in one of the emperor Henry III. mentioned on the Reichenau issued certificate for the first time, in this Einsiedeln Monastery confirmed his possessions and rights, among other things Erolzheim. 1594 the rule Erolzheim by Konrad was acquired by the younger Bemmelberg, son of Konrad von Boyneburg. The primary activity in Erolzheim was still dominated for years by agriculture. So livestock and Krämer markets were held in Erolzheim. In the first census in 1871 Erolzheim had 1,352 inhabitants. 1983 lived in the town of 2,006 inhabitants ( first time 2000 ). The previous high was reached in 2008 with 3,187 inhabitants. December 31, 2009 Erolzheim reached a new high of 3,323 inhabitants.

The nearest railway station is 6 km away Kellmünz on the railway line Ulm -Kempten. From Erolzheim also consist bus routes to Biberach an der Riss, Ochsenhausen, Memmingen, Illertissen and Kellmünz station.
