Geography

The municipality of Rot belongs to the region of Upper Swabia and is located on the same river between Red Biberach and Memmingen.

History

Red was first mentioned around the year 1100. Founded in 1126 Hemma Wildenburg the monastery Red ( also Mönchsrot ), which was colonized by the French Prämonstratenserchorherren.
