Eden Prairie ( also City of Eden Prairie ) is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It has 60 797 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Geography

Eden Prairie is located in southeastern Minnesota, 11 miles southwest of Minneapolis and just north of the Minnesota River. The area is 91.2 square kilometers.

History

The town received the current name in 1852. In 1858 he became a city. In 1880, the population was 739, in 1960 about 2,000. A rapid urban development took place in the 1960s and 1970s.
