Effeltrich is a community in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim and office of the Management Community Effeltrich.

Geography
Geographical Location
The municipality is situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Nuremberg. To Effeltrich heard of is my finished Gaiganz district, about three kilometers north-east (about 450 inhabitants).

Effeltrich divided into two districts:

- Gaiganz
History
Effeltrich means place with many apple trees (apple empire). The town was first mentioned in 1174 and since then has a pronounced fruit tree breeding, which is always the main source of income of the village. Even today dominate the nurseries and horticulture the village. 1433 Chapel of Effeltrich was mentioned. The place belonged to the secularization in 1802 to the Bishopric of Bamberg, from 1500 to the Frankish Empire circle and then became part of Bavaria.

On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality Gaiganz was incorporated.

The local council of Effeltrich has 15 members, including the part-time mayor.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: In red two by a silver wall connected, pointed gave silver circular towers, hovering over a golden apple with stalk and leaf.
Culture and sights
Effeltrich is known for its costumes and its traditions, which are maintained mainly by the people Trachtenverein Effeltrich and Effeltricher singers and musicians.

Effeltrich is also known by the dance lime tree in the village square. The place has a fortified church from the Middle Ages, which is known as fortified church and dedicated to St. George.
