Wiesenthau is a municipality near the Wiesentfels in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim and a member of the administrative community Gosberg based in Pinzberg.

Geography
Geographical location
Wiesenthau located near the Walberla. In the village is the castle Wiesenthau, long owned by the family of Wiesenthau.

History
1062 the village was first mentioned. The Lords of Wiesenthau had by 1128 held the lordship until their extinction in 1814. The state government had the Count Schönborn held, which were mediated by Bavaria in 1806. They entered it in the course of border adjustments to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg of Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany starting with the 1814 it finally fell back with the Treaties of Paris in Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
Incorporations
With the territorial reform the previously independent community Schlaifhausen was incorporated into the municipality Wiesenthau on 1 May 1978.

The coat of arms description reads: "On of red and silver split Zinnenschildfuß, topped with a heraldic lily in confused colors, cleaved by silver and red; front above the other four adjacent red diamonds, behind a silver flight. "
