Geographical location

The community is centrally located in the Rhön Nature Reserve and the Rhön Biosphere Reserve in 450-900 meters altitude, about 30 km east of Fulda. Most districts of the municipality are located in the Valley of Ulster and crossed by the highway 278. Only Reulbach located in a neighboring valley.

1965 Wüstensachsen was recognized as a resort. Since 1983 it is a state- recognized health resort with a corresponding infrastructure.

On the nearby water knoll find dragons, model, sailing or paragliding their starting places. History

On 31 December 1970, the formerly independent communities Melperts, Seifert and Wüstensachsen were merged to form the new municipality of Ehrenberg. Reulbach and Thaiden were added on August 1, 1972.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of the municipality of Ehrenberg 's red Franconian rake, whose upper bound is set off in silver.
