Elsa Rendschmidt

Elsa Rend Schmidt ( * January 11, 1886, † October 9, 1969 ) was a German figure skater who started in a single run.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 Rend Schmidt won even one Olympic medal as the first German woman. She started for the Berlin Ice club.

In addition to the Olympic silver medal in 1908 behind Madge Syers and two Vice World Championship titles in 1908 and 1910 behind Lily Kronberger, Rend Schmidt celebrated her biggest success on the national territory: in 1911 she won the inaugural round of the German Championship in figure skating ladies.

On 1 February 2006, a previously unnamed footpath in Berlin's Charlottenburg- Wilmersdorf, named after Elsa Schmidt end, the Berlin Schlittschuhclub leads from today's home of her old club at the Pichelsberg S-Bahn station.
