Eva Celbová

Eva Celbová ( born March 8, 1975 in Náchod ) is a former Czech beach volleyball player. She was twice European champion, won world bronze and participated in two Olympic tournaments.

Career

Celbová graduated in 1996 her first international tournament with Soňa Novakova - Dosoudilová. In the same year she was with her partner in Pescara by a final victory against the German duo Bühler / Müsch European champion. The duo reached the following year several top -tone finishes in Open tournaments and participated in the first World Cup in Los Angeles, which is handed to a ninth. At the European Championships in Riccione, the defending champions picked up bronze this time. The next continental tournament in Rhodes again they decided for themselves. The following year Celbová / Novakova occupied at the World Championships in Marseille 17th place, while they won their next medal at the European Championships in Palma as third parties.

The Olympic tournament in Sydney they finished after a defeat in the second round against the Japanese women Takahashi / Saiki than ninth. Successful was the World Cup 2001; in Klagenfurt were the Czechs with his victory over the U.S. women Youngs / Fontana third parties. 2002 in Basel, there was the third time EM bronze. The next two tournaments in 2003 and 2004 in Alanya Timmendorfer beach ended for Celbová / Novakova in ninth and four. Between these two competitions they played at the 2003 World Cup and had to in the second round to eventual champions Walsh / May- Treanor defeated in three sets. At her second Olympic tournament Celbová / Novakova excreted in Athens in 2004 again in the second round against McPeak / Youngs.

After two open tournaments in 2006, the longtime partners split. 2007 Gstaad Celbová did not match with their new partner Tereza Petrova on earlier successes and failed in the preliminary round.
