The Freedom Township is one of 12 townships in Carroll County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Freedom Township is located in northwestern Illinois approximately 25 km east of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa. The border with Wisconsin is located about 40 km north.

The Freedom Township is located at 42 ° 09'14 " north latitude and 89 ° 55'11 " west longitude and extending over 94.02 km ², spread over 92.41 km ² land and 1.61 km ² water surface.

To the northwest is Lake Carroll, a 260 -acre reservoir, lives on its banks, most of the residents of Freedom Township.

The Freedom Township is located in the north of Carroll County on the border of Jo Daviess and Stephenson County. Traffic

The nearest airport is approximately 30 km south west Tri - Township Airport south of Savanna.

Population

In the census of 2010, the Township had 695 inhabitants. There is no settlement, but in the area around Lake Carroll lives of the vast majority of residents.
