The Mount Carroll Township is one of 12 townships in Carroll County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Mount Carroll Township is located in northwestern Illinois and ranges up to 2 km closer to the west bank of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa. The border with Wisconsin is located about 55 km north.

The Mount Carroll Township is located at 42 ° 04'10 " north latitude and 90 ° 01'52 " west longitude and extending over 97.08 km ².

The Mount Carroll Township borders within the Carroll County in the north to the Woodland Township, in the northeast of the Freedom Township, on the east by the Salem Township, to the southeast by the Fairhaven Township, on the south by the York Township, on the west by the Savanna Township and to the northwest by the Washington Township.

Traffic

In west-east direction of the U.S. Highway 52 leads congruent with the Illinois State Route 64 through the Mount Carroll Township. The eastern boundary of the Township is formed by the Illinois State Route 78.

Through the Mount Carroll Township run two railway lines leading from the few kilometers west of the town of Savanna Township to the east.
