The Fairhaven Township is one of 12 townships in Carroll County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Fairhaven Township is located in northwestern Illinois 15 km east of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa. The border with Wisconsin is located about 65 km north.

The Fairhaven Township is located at 41 ° 58'54 " north latitude and 89 ° 55'38 " west longitude and extends over 98.3 km ².

The Fairhaven Township is located in the south of the Carroll County on the border of Whiteside County. Within the Carroll County Fair Haven Township is bordered to the west by the York Township, on the northwest by the Mount Carroll Township, on the north by Salem Township, in the northeast on the Rock Creek -Lima Township and on the east by the Wysox Township.

Traffic

Due to the north-east of the township Illinois State Route 40 runs from the branches, the only other paved road within the Township, heading west; for all other roads are unpaved roadways.

Through the Northeast runs a railway line of the Union Pacific Railroad, which connects Chicago with Omaha.

The nearest airport is around 25 km north-west location, Tri - Township Airport south of Savanna.
