Gelucourt

Gelucourt ( German Gisselfingen ) is a commune of 233 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Château- Salins and Canton Dieuze.

Geography

The municipality is located in Gelucourt Saulnois, about six kilometers south of Dieuze near the pond Linder ( Etang de Lindre ). The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine.

To Gelucourt the district Videlange heard ( Videlingen ).

History

The town was first mentioned as 786 Gisolvinga. Then Gisolvingom ( 792 ) Gisselfingen ( 1476, 1559 and 1594 ), Gélacourt (1793).

The village was first mentioned in the 8th century and destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. 1871-1918 it belonged to the German Empire.
