Gökhan Inler ( * June 27, 1984 in Olten, Turkish spelling: Gökhan İnler ) is a Swiss footballer of Turkish descent. He's since July 2011 at the Italian club Napoli under contract.

Clubs
The talented midfielder Gökhan Inler, who joined the FC Olten six years, made his debut as a 16- year-old for the Swiss third division side FC Solothurn, before in 2002 he was obliged by the first division club FC Basel for the U-21 team. Despite great progress, however, he made it into the Basel first team was denied.
After tryouts at Fenerbahce and FC Schaffhausen Inler but finally got his first professional contract with the Swiss first division club FC Aarau, where he made his debut in the 2-3 home defeat against Grasshopper Club Zurich on 20 March 2005. He was involved in the 2004/05 season instrumental in the relegation of the FCA. The following year, his development stagnated, however, and in the final stages of the 2005/06 season he was no longer used.
In January 2006, the Serie A club FC Zurich Inler broke from the current three-year contract and offered him a contract until June 2009. FCZ When he replaced Mihai Tararache, who had previously signed with German Bundesliga club MSV Duisburg. With FC Zurich he won the league title in 2005/ 06 and 2006/07. Together with Xavier Margairaz, Clederson César and Blerim Džemaili formed Inler the middle of the FCZ and he was one of the key players. 2007 voted him the FCZ fans for their player of the season.
In June 2007, Inler signed for Serie A club Udinese Calcio a five year contract. In Udine he could fight for a starting place after a successful preparation. Beginning in January 2008 Gökhan Inler was the shirt number 88 was at Udinese Calcio, due to constant good performances in Serie A of the Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport voted best foreign signing of the summer of 2007.
For the 2011/12 season Inler moved to league rivals Napoli. The rumored transfer fee of around 17.7 million euros to date the highest ever paid for a Swiss football player. In his first year at Naples Inler could win the Coppa Italia.
National
2005 Inler was first convened in the Swiss U- 21 team. After he had initially considered to play for Turkey, he denied on September 2, 2006, his first senior international for Switzerland (1-0 against Venezuela ). The change of heart had occurred after a long talk with coach Kobi Kuhn.
On 22 March 2007 in a friendly against Jamaica in Fort Lauderdale ( USA), he scored his first international goal. The end of a successful season FCZ was the EM test match against Argentina on June 2, 2007. Gökhan Inler played for the first time from the start in the defensive midfield. At the 2008 European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, he stood for the first time at a major tournament in the squad Switzerland.
Kobi Kuhn's successor Ottmar Hitzfeld had Inler in the national team, the role of key player and promoted him to 23 April 2011 as the new captain, after his predecessor Alexander Frei had given the retirement from international football known.
