Görisried lies in the planning region Allgäu. There is only the district Görisried.

History

The story Görisrieds presumably begins with the early and high medieval scheduled clearing work in Franconia Gau Celtic Stone ( 800-1300 ). At her prince pen in Kempten, the Bishopric of Augsburg, the monastery of St. Mang feet and the rule Kemnath were involved. In the documents Görisried is first mentioned in the 12th century in a lawsuit on Rothwasser at Wild Mountain. The first family names appear in documents of 1377th

Until 1803, the Görisrieder families were assigned to three different Pflegämtern: Oberdorf ( Bishopric of Augsburg), Nesselwang (St. Mang ) and Unterthingau ( pin Kempten ).

Since the Imperial Diet of 1803 the place belonged to Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Catholic Parish Church of St. Oswald

Görisried belonged with the branches Wildenberg and hay barn to the late Middle Ages to the parish Oberthingau, from which it was separated on November 5, 1497 as an independent parish. A new building of 1631 under Master Mason Matthew Mayr and master carpenter Baltus Kienzle received in 1679 a new tower and was remodeled in 1720. The destroyed by the great fire of 6 September 1823 36 houses of the village church was 1825/26 built using part of the old walls again and consecrated in 1830, but was so dilapidated after 20 years, that 1840/49 one still essentially preserved new building had to be built in the Neo-Gothic forms. There was a further restoration 1947/49 with removal of the neo-Gothic elements, and finally a complete modernization of the church and surrounding cemetery in the late 1980s under Pastor Erwin Ruchte.

The pews dates from the time of the reconstruction 1825/26. Receive is also the former high altar from 1850, at the feet of Christ kneeling the patron of the church of Görisried, St. Oswald, and the patrons of the store chapels, St. Ursula, Peter of Alcatara and Sebastian. Chapel of St. Ursula

The Chapel of St. Ursula is located about one kilometer south of Görisried on the road to Wild Mountain. There 1634/35 the plague victims of the community were buried. 1681 was the construction of the choir and nave of the eastern part. In the same time, the ceiling paintings are scenes from the legend of St.. Ursula and the pews.

Chapel of St. Peter of Alcantara in barn

Predecessor of this chapel was built around 1675 field chapel in honor of St..
