Gottfried
Gottfried is an old German man's name, its meaning is God's protection or just " divine peace." As such, it corresponds to the Hebrew- Old Testament names Solomon as well as the Muslim Suleiman. A German short form of the name is Goetz, a modification Goepfert. Gottfried is also a slightly archaic synonym for jacket, tunic, frock coat.
