Life and career
Grete Faremo studied at the University of Oslo Law and graduated with a Master's from. Faremo worked for Storebrand Insurance in managerial position from 1997 to 2003 and then to 2008 at Microsoft in Norway. From 2006, she was working for Norsk Hydro ( since November 2007 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer ). This post she gave up as it enters the Norwegian government in October 2009.
Grete Faremo was from 1990 to 1992 Minister for Development Cooperation, Minister of Justice from 1992 to 1996 and 1996, Norwegian oil and energy minister. In addition, it was for her party from 1993 to 1997 Member of Parliament Storting.
On 20 October 2009 she was Minister of Defense .. They took over the office of Anne- Grete Strøm - Erichsen. On 11 November 2011 she joined as the successor of Knut Storberget the Ministry of Justice.
