Heaven's Open is a music album by the British rock musician Mike Oldfield. It is Oldfield's fourteenth studio album and was released in 1991. It was his last album for Virgin. Mike Oldfield was contractually obliged to produce this album. After he had fallen out with the owner and founder of Virgin Richard Branson ( see Amarok reasons ), he provided it with sideswipes against the record company. So he criticizes in make make their greed cost of originality.

Oldfield released the album under the name Michael Oldfield. In addition, the first name of the producer Tom Newman is distorted with an "h ". Newman later said it was an attempt to reinvent themselves, while another source supports the theory that Branson Oldfield would have brought the idea because " Michael" much more formal and respectable sounds as the affable "Mike".

Unusually, Oldfield takes the lead vocal of all vocal instrument itself. Heaven's Open is the only one of its albums, in which this is the case. Oldfield took an extra six months for singing lessons with Helena Shenel.
