Herbert Thaler

Herbert Thaler (born 22 January 1940 in Imst ) is a former Austrian luger.

Herbert Thaler belongs to an Austrian luge and Bobsportfamilie. End of the 1950s and beginning of the 1960s he was successful both in single-seaters as well in doubles. In 1959, he won ahead of his compatriot Josef Feistmantl and the Italian David Moroder in Villard -de- Lans the title at the FIL World Luge Championships in singles. A year later he won in Garmisch -Partenkirchen with Helmut Thaler behind Reinhold Ewald Walch frog and the silver medal.
