Geography

Hohenberg- Kruse Mark is located around 17 km north- northeast of Stendal.

At the Hohenberg- Mark Kruse include the districts Altenzaun, Gethlingen, United Ellingen, Hindenburg, Small Ellingen, Small Hindenburg, Easter wood, Rosenhof and black wood.

History

The community was founded in 1928 from the formerly independent villages Hohenberg and Mark Kruse. On 31 December 2008, the Hindenburg was incorporated municipality on 1 January 2009, the municipality of Old fence and on 1 September 2010, finally, the community blackwood.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 15 April 1998 by the regional council of Magdeburg.

Blazon: " Split and half split of green, red and gold; forward a rising silver horse rear up a three-armed burning golden chandelier, back below left diagonally rising green oak leaf. "

The colors of the community are silver ( white) - Green.

The three-arm burning golden candlestick is the family coat of arms taken from those of Mark Kruse. The rising silver horse symbolizes the over one hundred years of equestrian and horse breeding tradition in the community. Hohenberg- Kruse Mark is considered a stronghold of equestrian sport in the state of Saxony- Anhalt. The diagonally left oak leaf is a symbol of nature in the whole community, especially oaks are found in large numbers. This coat of arms was designed on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the church, and the time after coat of arms heraldic legal and audit registered in Quedlinburg Wappenrolle in point QWR II/89004 15 February 1989 by the Heraldic Society "Black Lion" Leipzig.

Hohenberg- Kruse Mark is a partner congregation of Ellingen in Bavaria, initiated in 1989 after the opening of the border of the volunteer fire departments and large Ellingen Ellingen in Bavaria.
