Hungary men's national ice hockey team

The Hungarian national ice hockey team occupies the 19th place in the IIHF World Ranking and plays at world championships currently in Division I (as after the World Cup 2013). So far, the team took part in three Olympic Games, most recently, however, at the Games in 1964 in Innsbruck.

Is organized by the national team from the National Hockey Association Magyar Jégkorong Szövetség. In the current squad is not a NHL player, with Tamás Jamara ( Edmonton Oilers ), Levente Szuper (Calgary Flames) and János Vas ( Dallas Stars ) but so far three players in North America were drafted.

During 2007 the rise was still just missed the A - Cup, came with the 4-2 victory against Ukraine on 19 April 2008 after 70 years of resurgence in the A group of the World Cup. In the Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland in 2009, the Hungarian team, however, rose again from the Division I. To prepare for the annual World Championships, the national team regularly participates in tournaments in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge.
