I'm a Rebel

Occupation

I'm a Rebel (English: I 'm a rebel ) is the second studio album by the German heavy metal band Accept, recorded in 1979 and released in June 1980. It is the first of three consecutive albums that produced Dirk Steffens.

Formation

The title track was written by " George Alexander", pseudonym of Alex Young, the older brother of musician and producer George Young and AC / DC guitarist Angus Young and Malcolm Young. The bassist Peter Baltes sings two slower songs ( No Time to Lose and The King). The recordings took place from October to December 1979 at the Delta Center in Wilster instead. About the title song I'm a Rebel the first music video of the band was filmed.

I'm a Rebel was also released in the United Kingdom and the United States. The international versions have a different cover on which a sword with a lion can be seen on the handle.

Criticism

Ed Rivadavia of Allmusic considers the album a marked improvement over its predecessor Accept. I'm a Rebel as the first time at the typical Accept guitar sound and the characteristic vocals of Udo Dirk Schneider and contains the title song the first classic of the band. However, the production of the album leave some to be desired.
