Institute of Classical Studies

The Institute of Classical Studies ( ICS for short ) is a research institute in the field of languages, literature, history, art history, archeology and philosophy of ancient Greece and Rome and part of the School of Advanced Study, University of London.

The Institute of Classical Studies was founded in 1953 by the Senate of the University as a collaboration with the Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies and the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies. One of the co-founders of one of the classical scholar and archaeologist Classic TBL Webster. The Institute is one of the Joint Library of the two Societies and the Institute.
