Jens Veggerby

Jens Veggerby ( born October 20, 1962 in Copenhagen) is a former Danish racing cyclist.

Jens Veggerby was a professional cyclist from 1984 to 1999. As an amateur, and at the beginning of his professional career, he successfully drove road races like the Swedes or the Tour of Lombardy. Later he focused on the Track Cycling.

Especially Veggerby furore as a successful six-day rider. Overall, he started at 89 Six days, of which he won 13. Five of these victories he won together with his compatriot Jimmi Madsen. Also, he was three times European Champion in two's team driving, even with Madsen, twice with Pierangelo Bincoletto. He also became world champion stayer in 1993.

Today Jens Veggerby operates an art gallery in Copenhagen. As of July 2010, he was on trial because he had brought in November 2008 for the prominent Danish businessman stone excavator illegally 270.000 € from Monaco to Denmark. When it was gone excavator end of November 2008 after the bankruptcy of his company IT Factory, located Veggerby had shown himself to the authorities. He had not known that amounts of money from 75,000 Danish kroner (DKR ) would have to be registered. On April 4, 2011, he was sentenced to a fine of 500,000 DKR.
