Jessicah Schipper

Jessicah Lee Schipper OAM ( born November 19, 1986 in Brisbane ) is an Australian swimmer.

Career

The daughter of a German family managed their international breakthrough at individual distances at the World Swimming Championships in 2005 in Montreal. Your special disciplines are the butterfly stretch. About 100 m butterfly, she was in Montréal World Champion and over 200 m butterfly she had to take four hundredths of a second Otylia Jędrzejczak beaten from Poland and won the silver medal. With the Australian medley relay Schipper won another gold medal.

She won the world title over 200m butterfly at the World Swimming Championships in 2007 in Melbourne. About 100 m in the same discipline she had to admit only her teammate Lisbeth Lenton beaten and won silver. Together with Trickett, Emily Seebohm and Leisel Jones, she won gold in the 4 × 100 m medley relay. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing she won the 100m butterfly bronze medal behind her compatriot Lisbeth Trickett and the US-American Christine Magnuson. About 200 m butterfly she could also win bronze. The greatest success of the Games in Beijing she was able to record on the last day of swimming competitions when she won the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m medley relay.

The World Swimming Championships 2009 in Rome began for them with a silver medal in the 100 meter butterfly behind the 15-year old Sarah Sjöström. About 200 meters butterfly, she managed then to defend her world title in world record time.
