Jim Geringer

James "Jim" Geringer ( born April 24, 1944 in Wheatland, Wyoming) is an American politician ( Republican), who was from 1995 to 2003 Governor of the State of Wyoming.

Early years and political rise

Little grew up on the family farm in Wheatland, Wyoming. He graduated from the Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. Then he was from 1967 to 1977 worked in the United States Air Force, worked on air and space programs for the Air Force and NASA, which military spy satellites, the NASA Viking Mars Lander and the beginnings of the global positioning system concerned. He was also head of the machine programming at a basic receiving station for early warning satellites during this time. After his military service, he went to the agriculture and livestock in rural Wyoming. His political career began in 1983 with his election to the House of Representatives from Wyoming, where he was for six years and was then elected to the Senate from Wyoming. During this period the Geringers pursued its farm and he took part in the exercises of the Air Force Reserves.

Governor of Wyoming

Low held the office of the Governor of Wyoming from 2 January 1995 to 6 January 2003. During his tenure he supported the local communities at the center of every government service and treatment. In this context, he assisted with the tools provided state- local programs. He urged on higher standards, correct power control and effective use of technology for the primary and distance learning. He was also the chairman of the Western Governors ' Association and the Education Commission of the States.
