Jonas Frögren

Frögren Jonas ( born August 28, 1980 in Falun ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defender, who stands in October 2012 in Atlant Mytischtschi in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Jonas Frögren was in 1998 by the Calgary Flames in the eighth round of the NHL Entry Draft, selected during a total of 206 players for whom, however, he never played in his career. In the years 1998 to 2008, the defenders stood at Färjestad BK in his native Sweden under contract, where he in 2002 and 2006, twice won the Swedish championship title at this time. Only in the season 1999/2000 the Swede was loaned to second division Bofors IK.

On 9 July 2008 signed Frögren a two- year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Due to the unresolved question of player status then it came to disagreements between the Maple Leafs and the league.

His first goal in the NHL scoring Frögren on December 20, 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After he had been standing on a regular basis during the 2008/ 09 season for the Maple Leafs on the ice, the Swede came in the following season only for their farm team, the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League action. For the season 2010/11 Frögren returned again to his homeland to Färjestad BK, which for the third time in his career he won the Swedish championship for the season.

In June 2012, Frögren was first committed by HK Dinamo Minsk, for which he was active in the Kontinental Hockey League until October 2012. Then Frögren was traded for Janne Niskala Atlant Mytischtschi because Dinamo wanted to strengthen the offensive power of the defense.
