Junkers J 15

The Junkers J 15 was created in 1920 as a result of preliminary investigation to a small and lightweight cantilever high-wing aircraft. In addition to the two pilots passengers could be carried. The machine was equipped with a 118 kW Mercedes / Daimler D IIIa. The aircraft allowed the wing assembly also at a position below the passenger cabin so that the plane could be transformed into a low-wing monoplane. Thus, comparisons between these two wing positions were hired.

The passenger cabin was designed generous and the high-lying wing allowed the passengers an excellent view.

Since the cockpit is disposed behind a closed passenger compartment, the bottom view of the pilot was severely limited by the wing assembly. In addition, exhaust gases forced their way into the cockpit. The type was therefore not pursued, but the findings in the Junkers K 16 used.
