Jurij Tepeš

Yuri Tepeš ( born February 14, 1989 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

Yuri Tepeš began at age six with the ski jumping. As the first major successes were five medals at Junior World Championships to book. In 2005 he won the team gold and individual bronze at the normal hill in Rovaniemi. In 2006 he was these successes Add two silver medals in individual and team competition on the normal hill in the domestic Kranj and at the Junior World Championships 2007 in Planica, where the jump competitions were postponed because the originally planned venue Tarvisio there was a lack of snow, he again scored a victory with the Slovenian team.

Yuri Tepeš starts since 2002 for the Slovenian team in the Continental Cup. Since 2005 he has been employed in this competition regularly. His best result so far was there a second place on 17 December 2005. Meanwhile, he jumps on a regular basis for the Slovenian national team in the World Cup. He could be on 14 December 2007 in Villach with a 24th place for the first time secure World Cup points.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo, he won with the Slovenian national team the bronze medal in the team competition on the large hill and achieved his greatest success. His first victory in the Summer Grand Prix celebrated Tepeš in Almaty on August 30, 2011. In October 2011, he was then possible for the first time Slovenian champion in Kranj. His best results so far in the World Cup were 8 ranks while jumping in Engelberg on December 17, 2011, in Zakopane on January 20, 2012. Most successful year of his career so far was choosing the Slovenian ski jumping team (together with Robert Kranjec, Peter Jernej Damjan and Prevc ) crowned team of the Year in Slovenia. On 19 February 2012, he won with the Slovenian team the team competition at the Heini Klopfer ski jump and overtook not only the first victory of his career. The Slovenian team won a team competition in the World Cup for the first time ever.

In the Ski Flying World Championships 2012 in Vikersund he won with the Slovenian team the bronze medal in the team competition. On March 3, 2012 Yuri Tepeš celebrated a success of a different kind when he improved the hill record on the HS97 hill in Lahti from 98.5 m to 101 m. After he had just eight days earlier won the title on the normal hill in Kranj, Tepeš won on October 14, 2012, the first held in Slovenian championship on the big hill on the newly built plant in Planica.

On February 3, 2013 Tepeš was able to secure a third place at the ski jumping on the Čerťák ski jump in the Czech Republic Harrachov his first individual podium in the World Cup. His first World Cup victory he celebrated on March 24, 2013 also in ski flying on the hill in Planica. His first podium on a large hill Tepeš secured to kick off the 2013/14 season with a third place in Klingenthal.

Yuri Tepeš is the son of the famous ski jumper and today's ski jumping functionary Miran Tepeš and brother of the ski jumper Anja Tepeš.
