Karl Stewart

Karl Stewart (born 30 June 1983 Aurora, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since the 2009/10 season he played with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Stewart came in 2000 as a seventeen -year-old to the Plymouth Whalers. There the Canadians played three years in the OHL before he was taken from the NHL team Atlanta Thrashers under contract. The jersey of the Thrashers wore Stewart in the season 2003/ 04 five times, mostly he ran but the farm team of the Thrashers in the Chicago Wolves on. In the coming two years, played winger for the Wolves, in the season 2005/ 06 he graduated again eight games for Atlanta.

In August 2006, Stewart was transferred in exchange for the Ukrainian Vitaly Vishnevsky to the Anaheim Ducks. Before he had a game for the Ducks denied the striker joined in September 2006, again in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins. After three games in the jersey of the Penguins Stewart left turn, the club and signed with the Chicago Blackhawks. There the links Sagittarius spent most of the season, he played 37 games and also scored his first goal in the NHL. In April 2009, Stewart signed a one-year contract with the DEL Team Straubing Tigers. After the shooter had left injured in the preseason, he succeeded late to integrate into the team. First, his contract was not renewed, on 23 July was the club's management of the Tigers announced the further obligation Stewart. After a two month trial period, the contract was extended until the end of the season.
