Blaine Down

Blaine Down ( * July 16, 1982 in Oshawa, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 in the Straubing Tigers under contract. Previously, he was active among others in the ZSC Lions and their farm team, the GCK Lions in the Swiss National League B.

Career

Blaine Down began his career as a hockey player with the Barrie Colts, for which he was active from 1999 to 2002 in the Ontario Hockey League, and with whom he 2000 the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL champions won. He then played three years for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, before joining SV Ritten - Renon in the Italian Serie A in the summer of 2005. With the South Tyrolean he was in the following season of Italian runners-up. Then the attacker in Europe, where he played for two years in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen at the Herning Blue Fox remained. In the seasons 2006 /07 and 2007/ 08 Down won each Danish Championship, before moving to the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A before the 2008/ 09 season. For the people of Zurich, he sustained when winning the Champions Hockey League, came in all seven CHL games used. However, in the national championship, he played exclusively at Zurich's farm team, the GCK Lions of the National League B.
