Nuclei in the Rems Valley is a municipality of the Rems -Murr -Kreis in Baden- Württemberg. It belongs to the metropolitan region of Stuttgart. Nuclei in the Rems valley was formed by the local government reform in Baden- Württemberg on September 20, 1975 initially as a community Stetten - Rommelshausen from the communities Rommelshausen and Stetten in the Rems valley.

Name

After merging the two villages the name of the resulting community was transitional Stetten - Rommelshausen. The name of nuclei in the Rems valley was determined by a competitive and refers to the 513 meter high mountain of the community, the nuclei, however, is on Fellbacher city.

The official designation of the districts is done by preceding community name with a hyphen and a suffix district name.

Geography

Cores located on the western edge of the Rems valley, south of the Rems.

The neighboring municipalities are Fellbach, Waiblingen, wine town, Stuttgart, Esslingen am Neckar, Aichwald.

The center of Stuttgart is located about 16 km away.

Community structure

The former municipalities Rommelshausen and Stetten in the Rems valley, the two districts of nuclei in the Rems valley.

The hamlet Rommelshausen include the village Rommelshausen and the living space hillside pasture and Outbound village Hardthof.

For Stetten district includes the village of Stetten, the living space Seemühle and the disposed villages Eulenhof, Lindh Alden, Sun Mountain, Forest Brother house and Hart.

History

Rommelshausen

The oldest traces of settlement on drum Hauser district date from the Roman period. 1971 was excavated by WD Forster and MA gasoline a Roman villa (villa rustica). The Gesamthof comprised about 70 acres. The main building was about 21 × 13 feet tall. On the basis of coin finds, the age is estimated at the time of 180-235 AD.

Between 650 and 750 AD, the first settlement was founded by the Alemanni. Indication of this are some Alamanni graves. Of these first settlers Rommelshausen may have got its name. Perhaps the settlement was named after the leader of the settlers. This could have been called Rumold. Certificates are provided for this, however.

The first mention Rumoldeshusen dates from the year 1146. In a deed of gift, in the monastery upper cell of the acquisition of own property by the Roman-German King Conrad III. is to certify a Wortwin de Rumoldeshusen is called as a witness. Who is this Wortwin de Rumoldeshusen, is not known. As will be named as additional witnesses Count Ludwig von Württemberg and the Lords of Plochingen from the environment, it seems likely that he belonged to the environment of the Count and there was a high position.

In addition to this name, the names Rummeltzhausen, Rumelshusen and Rommeltzhausen for the place appear. For the first time in 1686 is mentioned in a document, the name Rommelshausen.

Between 1293 and 1300 Rommelshausen belonged to the dominion of the Dukes of Teck. In 1300 the territory of Rommelshausen was sold to the Counts of Württemberg.

Stetten

In 1241 Stetten was first mentioned in a document. On February 2, 1241 Count Eberhard and Ulrich of Württemberg sold a farm to the monastery of the Holy Kreuztal. As a witness to a Eberhardus dapifer de Stetin is called, so Eberhard, Steward of Stetten. Stewards were serf- service men of the Counts of Württemberg. They had the role of the first Lord Chamberlain. For important decisions Messrs. Steward of Stetten as the Württemberg court official counts and dukes were always there.

The village of Stetten was sold again and again over the centuries.

By 1300, the Yburg was built above the valley. Initially it was called Eibenberg, the mutant over Yberg to Yburg. The castle was not inhabited since 1442. In 1760/61 it was broken down to the Zargenmauern.

Between 1384 and 1387 the Stettener castle was built in the valley.

The Württemberg hereditary marshal Konrad Thumb von Neuburg bought Stetten in 1507 and received the high jurisdiction over the place. His son Hans Konrad Thumb von Neuburg promoted there in 1530 the Reformation and continuing later by. The Thumb von Neuburg ruled until 1645 in Stetten.

1664 Stetten was to Duke Eberhard III. sold.

Religions

After the Reformation, both towns are Protestant. The last Catholic priest must Rommelshausen leave in 1535. The existing Catholic churches be " reformed ". Only in the 19th century re-settle there Catholics in Rommelshausen and Stetten on. 1917 live in Stetten 50 and in Rommelshausen 120 Catholics. The Catholic churches were built in 1954 ( Stetten ) and 1960 ( Rommelshausen ).

Description: The coat of arms shows coring on a yellow background, two parallel rows of diamonds. The rows run diagonally from bottom to top, each consisting of three diamonds and have the colors blue ( top row) and black.

Meaning: The Coat of Arms was formed from the two existing arms of Rommelshausen and Stetten. The diamonds symbolize the " teckschen diamonds ". Both districts were some time under the jurisdiction of the Dukes of Teck.

Economy and infrastructure

Rommelshausen and Stetten were marked for a long time by agriculture and viticulture. In the area of both places is loess and Keuper soil that is well suited for agriculture and viticulture. The importance of winemaking for Stetten was first documented in 1379 in a document:

Industrialization moved the industry into two districts. Rommelshausen was preferred in the development of the local industry, as it had its own stop the Rems Railway since 1861.

The Ahoy effervescent powders of former Robert Friedel GmbH ( Frigeo ) is no longer produced in the district Rommelshausen. In Stetten district is the loud Gault Millau top-rated Greek restaurant in Germany ( 2 toques, 15/ 20 points).

Educational institutions

Nuclei in the district has Rommelshausen some basic ( Halde school) and a secondary school ( Rumoldrealschule ). In the district of Stetten is a primary and secondary school (Karl Mauch school). In Stetten a school for mentally disabled children and young people is operated by the Diakonia Stetten. In the Theodor- Dierlamm school mainly go severely disabled persons, in Schlossalle school students with disabilities easier.

At the age of 15 years is from June to October 1892 with a brief interruption of the later Nobel Hermann Hesse as a very sensitive and intellectually versatile teenager was forcibly fed by his parents of the former mental hospital Stetten. He has worked with in the garden and helped with the teaching of mentally retarded children.
