Kevin Scarce

Kevin John Scarce ( born May 4, 1952 in Adelaide, Australia) is an Australian Rear Admiral retired and current Governor of South Australia.

Life

Scarce spent his childhood in Woomera and went in 1968 to the Australian Navy. He took on board the HMAS Sydney part in the Vietnam War. In 1975 he married Elizabeth Anne Taylor.

After the Vietnam War, he made ​​a career in various positions within the replenishment and was promoted to Rear Admiral. From 1995-97 he was head of the main training base of the Australian Navy, the HMAS Cerberus.

On 3 May 2007, it was announced that Scarce is appointed the next governor of South Australia, although he had repeatedly expressed as a proponent of the transformation of Australia into a republic. On his appointment on August 8, he was the youngest governor, the South Australia has ever had.
