Kiso River

The Kiso (Japanese木 曽 川, Kiso- gawa ) is a river on the main Japanese island of Honshu.
It is 229 km long and has a catchment area of 5275 km ², the entire river system but 9100 km ². He gave the Kisokaido its name, the western part of the old overland road Nakasendō. The 13 km rapids between Minokamo ( Gifu Prefecture) and Inuyama ( Aichi Prefecture) are called " Nihon Rhine " means. The trip down the river, " Rhein- Kudari " in long, two boatmen controlled wooden boats is a popular summer activity.
