Klavdiya Boyarskikh

Klavdiia Sergejewna Bojarskich (Russian Клавдия Сергеевна Боярских; born November 11, 1939 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Oblast, † December 12, 2009 in Yekaterinburg ) was a cross-country skier who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1960s.

She dominated the cross-country skiing competitions at the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, when she won the gold medal both over 5 km and above 10 km, and with the season. In 1966, she won three more medals, including the gold over 10 km and in the relay at the World Championships.

Immediately after the IOC had in 1967 approved the introduction of gender controls, Bojarskich announced her departure, which gave rise to much speculation.
