Koibatek District

Koibatek District is a district in Kenya's Rift Valley Province. The capital of the district is Eldama Ravine. In District 1999 138.000 people lived at 2306 km ². 1995 was split off from the Koibatek District Baringo District. The people in the District Koibatek live mainly from agriculture and livestock. There are 211 preschools, 149 primary schools, 22 secondary schools and five secondary schools. The district has 36 health facilities, including 13 pharmacies. The infant mortality rate in 2001 was 6.3%, eight percent of the children died before their 5th birthday.

Structure

The district is divided into councils and divisions. There are two electoral districts, Mogotio and Eldama Ravine.
