Kose Parish

Kose ( German: Kosh ) is a rural municipality in Harju County Estonia with an area of ​​237.33 km ². It has 5751 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2005).

In addition to the main town Kose to the municipality includes the villages Ahisilla, Kanavere, Karla, Kata, Kolu, Kose - Uuemõisa, chalk, Kuivajõe, Liiva, Nombra, Nõrava, Oru, Palvere, Raveliku, Ravila, Saula, Sõmeru, Tade, Tammiku, Tuhala, Vardja, Vilama, Viskla and full.

Kose was first mentioned in records in 1241 Cosius Liber Census Daniae. Already in 1220, shortly after the founding of Tallinn, one of the oldest churches of northern Estonia was built there. The original walls are still visible. From 1346 there was a water mill in Kose.

Otto von Kotzebue is buried in Kose.
