Keila Parish

Keila is a rural municipality in the western part of Harju County in Estonia, northwest of Tallinn, on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.

Geography

The municipality borders the Keila rural communities Harku, Saue and the city Keila in the east, the municipalities Kernu, Vasalemma and Padise in Paldiski South and in the West.

The height profile is typical of the coastal area. The community is bordered by the rivers to the east and Keila Vasalemma in the West.

History

Initially, the small community was the administrative unit in the area of the manor Keila. 1866 got the community through the new Municipalities Act extended powers.
