Krauschwitz
Krauschwitz, Upper Sorbian Krušwica, is a municipality in the district Görlitz, Saxony. It is located in the Sorbian settlement area of Upper Lusatia and is located in the north-east of Saxony at the German -Polish border.

Geography
The municipality is located in Krauschwitz Muskauer Heide in the northeastern part of the county, about five kilometers north-east of White Water. To the east of the town Krauschwitz the Lusatian Neisse River, along which the districts are upstream to the southeast flows:

History
Krauschwitz is mentioned as Kruswica the first time in 1400 in Bautzen Council acts in a document, the neighboring Keula is already detectable 1268. The name Krauschwitz is of Slavic and means " pear village". In 1771 the first school was founded. A forest fire in 1775 destroyed the city almost completely. With the construction of the Prussian State Street (now Federal Road 115) from Görlitz to Cottbus in 1830 it was connected the community to the national transport network. In 1938, the former places Krauschwitz and Keula were pooled for community Krauschwitz. Keula was greater at this time, was Krauschwitz ceramic products by the more well-known place.
On January 1, 1994, the municipalities Klein Priebus joined together ( with the districts Podrosche and Werdeck ) Pechern, Sagar and Skerbersdorf with Krauschwitz. Coat of arms
The coat of arms is based on the colors of Upper Lusatia with blue and yellow. In it are three pears that relate to the Sorbian name Krušwica ' pears village ' in the upper part. Anvil and hammer in the lower part symbolize the iron smelting, which laid the foundation for the establishment Keulas.
Community partnerships
Krauschwitz maintains two partnerships, the one with the Przewóz located on the opposite bank of the Neisse ( German Priebus ), and second in the Black Forest community Ottersweier.

Economy
The pre-industrial development began in 1440 with the installation of Krauschwitz iron hammer to Keula, one of the oldest iron foundries in Germany and foundation of the later Keulahütte. In Krauschwitz of entrepreneurs and inventors in 1878 bought a pottery dish and extended these to a large producer of ceramics, which was a site of the German clay and stoneware Werke AG after two mergers in 1902 and 1904.
Before the turn Krauschwitz was heavily influenced by industrial community. The largest employers in the community are currently Keulahütte Krauschwitz GmbH ( the VEM group belonging ), centrifugal Environmental Engineering GmbH & Co. KG, carpentry Drogoin GmbH, gravure and Landeskulturbau GmbH Nadebor and Ostsächsische services and Service GmbH (ODS ).
Traffic
In the village, the B 115 and B 156 cross Furthermore run the state highways 123, 126, 127 and 127b by Krauschwitz. About the 2011 opened border crossing to Poland is a connection to Łęknica and the Polish national road 12 north of the village is the border crossing Bad Muskau Łęknica as well as in the southern municipality of 1994 opened border crossing Podrosche - Przewóz.
By Krauschwitz the forest railway Muskau leads (600 mm gauge ) on their way between white water and Bad Muskau. The former leading by Krauschwitz railroad white water bath Muskau has since been partially dismantled.
