Kšyštof Lavrinovič

Kšyštof Lavrinovic ( born November 1, 1979 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player who is employed at a height of 2.09 m at the power forward and center positions. He stands at Zalgiris Kaunas since 2012 under contract and is, like his twin brother Darjus Lavrinovic, a longtime member of the Lithuanian national team. Both are members of the Polish minority in Lithuania.

Career

Like his brother, began his career at Kšyštof Lavrinovic Alita Alytus, the predecessor organization of BC Alytus. End of 1998, were both charged with jointly committed rape. Unlike Darjus to Kšyštof Lavrinovic pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison. With Siena Lavrinovic won in each of his years there as well as the national championship in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Italian Cup, where he was elected MVP of the final game of 2011. 2008 and 2011 he was voted Second Team All- euro into the League after Siena had each reached the Final Four of that competition. After five years in Italy, he returned back to Lithuania in 2012 and moved to Zalgiris Kaunas, with whom he was able to defend their Lithuanian Champion title successfully. While 2012/13 again missed in the ULEB Euro League quarter- final play-offs, was reached in 2012/13, the semifinals in the VTB United League. Following the bankruptcy of the majority owner UKIO bankas of Vladimir Romanov Zalgiris reached still just the second group stage of the ULEB Euro League 2013 /14, where they lost the first five group games so Lavrinovic took outstanding salary payments in mid-February as a reason for a further change of club. His greatest success as a part of the Lithuanian national team celebrated Lavrinovic by winning the European Championship in 2003. Moreover, he reached the semi-finals in 2004 and 2008 respectively in the Olympic basketball competition and participated in the European Championships in 2005, 2007 and 2009 and the 2006 World Cup. Also for the Eurobasket 2011 in Lithuania was the host, Lavrinovic stood in the squad.
