Kungälv Municipality

Kungälv is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish county of Västra Götaland County. The main town is Kungälv. Other settlements include the city of Marstrand, the villages Diseröd, Kareby, code, Kärna, Tjuvkil and other smaller villages.

Geography

The community Kungälv located about 20 km north of Gothenburg. It extends from the Göta älv to the coast of the Skagerrak. The northern arm of the Göta älv forms the southern and eastern boundary of the municipality. The municipality also includes the coastal offshore archipelago, on which the city Marstrand, an important tourist center is located.

Economy

The economy of the municipality Kungälv is characterized by its proximity to the city of Gothenburg.
