Ladislav Rygl, Sr.

Ladislav Rygl (* July 16, 1947 in Polubny ) is a former Czechoslovak Nordic combined.

Career

Rygl competed at the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in singles and reached this rank 16th After jumping he was still on rank 18, but could make some positions with a good performance. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1970 in Vysoke Tatry Rygl won before Nikolai Nogovitsyn and Vyacheslav Drjagin the world title in the individual competition.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo, Japan, he failed to make it into the top. In individual he reached the 26th place.

After the end of his active career, he worked as a trainer in Tanvald. He was co-founder and manager of the sports center Vrchlabí. For a time he supervised the junior team of Czechoslovakia. After the takeover of the Centre by the CTSV Rygl went as a coach in Switzerland. There he took over the training of the B national squad for five years before he went to work at the local club Dukla Liberec coach back to Liberec. After the disintegration of Czechoslovakia Rygl took over the post of national coach in the Czech Republic. After he had put into retirement, he started training in the family and trains still active today his grandchildren.
