Lamon

Lamon is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2997 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Belluno in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 51 km west-southwest of Belluno and directly borders the province of Trento.

History

2005 there was a referendum in which the majority of the population of Lamon, arguing for the separation of the province of Belluno and for inclusion in the Trento region and thus the province of Trento. The related process is not yet finished and was abducted by the concerned government bodies. " Want to change the province " This is colloquially known as " lamonizzare " since then and the subsequent same movements in Cortina, Colle St.Lucia and Arabba.
